If you are on this page, you are probably an agent thinking about a change. Maybe you are captive and the ceiling is getting louder. Maybe you went to a franchise and the split has stopped feeling temporary. Maybe you already went independent and the group you joined has taken more than it has given.
I have been all three.
I started in 1997 on the captive side. Eleven years. The captive world gave me the foundation, the discipline, and the reps. It also gave me the ceiling. When my clients called about rate increases I could not fight, I lost them. When they asked about coverage I was not allowed to sell, I lost them. I was working harder every year to build a book of business that, on paper, was not mine.
So I went independent in 2008. Founded my own agency. And immediately ran into the problem every independent agent runs into on day one, carrier access. So I joined an aggregator. For the first year, it was exactly what I needed.
Then the fees started. Then the split changed. Then the non-compete appeared in the renewal contract. Then the profit-sharing check I expected showed up smaller than the year before, even though my premium had tripled.
I looked around and realized the pattern was the whole industry. Groups asking agents to pay huge initiation fees just to join. Groups taking 25 to 50 percent of commissions forever. Groups locking agents into non-competes and burying them in exit clauses. Groups keeping the carrier bonuses that should have gone back to the agencies producing the premium.
As of this letter
$2M+ Returned
·110+ Agencies
·150+ Carriers
In 2016, I launched ISG United. A network, not an aggregator. A partnership, not a capture. A one-page contract, not thirty. Ten years later, 110+ member agencies across eight states, $2M+ returned to those agencies as profit sharing, no non-compete, no upfront fees, 100% commissions.
Not because we are more generous than the competition. Because I lived what happens when the model is built the other way. And I do not want any other agent to have to.
We will walk through your specific state, your specific book, and your specific numbers. No pitch deck. If ISG is not the right fit for you, our team will tell you inside the first ten minutes and part as friends.
That is it. That is the letter. Everything else is on the other side of the conversation.
